In the sacred sanctuary of the heart,
In its silent theophany,
Where silence laid the foundation
Of the Secret of Alast,
You descended—
Becoming the primordial spark,
A gentle ray,
A beam of the Kun Fayakun,
Which no darkness
Can ever extinguish.
O Soul of my soul,
You have placed within my spirit
A lamp that, even after annihilation,
Remains aglow in eternity,
A lamp that bears witness
To Light upon eternal Light.
Whether storms arise,
Or the evening mist descends—
This lamp, in every state,
Remains radiant,
Kindling hope,
And upon the Tablet of Truth,
Inscribes the conscience anew.
Your laughter—
A rainbow in the celestial flame,
Transforming the night's skirt
Into a galaxy.
Your touch—
Reduces the delusion of separation
To dust,
And every whisper—
A verse of light,
Guides the heart
To the Source
Of the Kun Fayakun.
Neither the icy blizzards of the poles
Can dim my fire of love—the Fire of Allah—
Nor can any doubt
Steal the sweetness
From the Cup of Alast.
You are that dawn
Which tears apart the darkness of night,
You are that night
Which reveals the truth of day.
The light of my soul—
A flowing river,
Streaming from Eternity Past to Eternity Future,
Immersed in the Light of Truth,
Flowing endlessly
Along the path of permanence.
