The Word - Poem by Robert James Smith

i die today
i know i will
what's said can never be unheard

kill my body
so they may
yet cannot touch my precious word

in the beginning
was the word
now near the end my flaming sword

is wielded high
both strong and free
and so much more my life's reward

Topic(s) of this poem: courage, expression, freedom, freedom of speech, political, sacrifice
