They Are Planting Martyrs Poem by Ali Rahimi

They Are Planting Martyrs

They are planting martyrs,
They are cultivating hatred,
Barbed wire gardens of separation,
Exile and sad immigration,
Jungles of mortars, bullets and mines,
Sledgehammer grass of aggression,
Sowing the seeds of suspicion and sabotage,
Producing panic, pain and paranoia,
They are planting martyrs,
Their flowers are made of iron bars, whips and weapons,
Petals of bloody sharp daggers,
Ovaries of war, torture and devastation,
Leaves of madness, greed and cruelty,
Their sunflowers bloom in blood of innocent kids,
Their lilies blossom in the pulse of martyrs,
Their red carnations thrive on the last gasps of,
The dying men hanged for freedom,
They are planting martyrs
Their tulips flourish in heart- wrenching tears of war widows,
Left in grief, heartache and loneliness, facing harassment,
And the filthy hands of lustful political pigs,
Their chrysanthemum blow out poison,
Pressure, prejudice, paralysis,
Their roses are watered by Satan’s sweet saliva!
Fed by witchcraft, magic and wizardry,
They are planting martyrs,
They are planting martyrs,
They are planting martyrs,
They are planting martyrs,
Their lilies thrive on turmoil, chaos, drugs and hunger,
Their daffodils are made of needles,
chains, handcuffs, and razors,
They are murdering music, strangling art,
stiffing love, killing truth,
They are planting martyrs,
But Listen! keep our eyes open! beware!
We plant trees of peace, pacifism and placidity,
We grow flowers of fun and friendship,
Our farms shine with the fruit of knowledge and wisdom,
Our roses are rooted in the soil of affection,
Our cornflowers are messengers of justice,
Our orchids are defenders of hope, joy and light,
Our daisies are harbingers of future bliss,
Our lands raise love, hugs and kisses,
They are planting martyrs,
Yes, sweetheart!
Rest assured, this is the garden of laughter and pleasure,
Territory of cheers and high spirits,
Here, orchard speaks the truth, roses smile at strangers,
This is the shrubbery of purity, clarity and true humanity,
Gee whiz! Gee whiz! Jolly good!
Look at the land of delight! The human farm!
Ooo! Man! Woman! What a surprise!
They are planting martyrs...
