They Call Me Stray Poem by Vijay Srinivas

They Call Me Stray

Not for me chains and collar,
That's me with no owner,
Run around when I want,
A thing my collared fellowdogs can't,
What if humans don't hold me and cuddle,
My friends are there to huddle,
Not for me factory food,
God provides me what for me is good,
Kennels are not for me,
The world's for me for free,
Choose their friends they cannot,
That's the collared ones lot,
Chosen by me they abound,
My friends from all around,
All along I've had my way,
And they call me stray,
They say every dog has it's day,
For me that day is everyday.
