They Talk Poem by S.M. Riggin

They talk about
the pain and the sorrow
the trials I will face
but I will think about that
later,
maybe even tomorow.

They talk about
how my life will differ
the things I can not do
the sports I have to sit
and watch
and I know that I will suffer.

They talk about
the opporations I will face
and the pain thereafter
and different pills to help
me feel better.
my life will be slow pace.

They talk about
it spreading making me worse,
tears well up in my eyes
but as always I say
'I'll be fine'
just as I rehursed.
