Those Of Failed Worth Poem by Sean Green

Replacement is a mark of worth
gauged by those who hear the voice
of a world that seems to care
for dollar's sake and dogma's bane

one dictates a bottom line
measured by where profits lie
with the spreadsheet all shall know
who shall come and who shall go

the other measures in degrees
already stated by piety
with no room to deviate
from the bane of belief's state

one or the other will decide
what's of value and what's denied
leaving those of failed worth
to wonder why the world has turned.
