Thoughts Poem by Gael Jimenes

Thoughts

Thoughts grip the mind, unrelenting;
Without them, we are nothing.
Overbearing—what more can they do?

Thoughts ring throughout,
silence dawns endless commotion
A vacuum forming in their wake.

Carnivorous thoughts stalk the day,
Feasting in the shadows of night.

Stop.
(Time does not stop for anyone.)

Afraid of what could be,
Saturn feasted upon me.

Waves pull—thoughts never dormant,
Retribution follows.
