Tidt gik vi Arm i Arm i Frederiks Have - Poem by Bernhard Severin Ingemann

Tidt gik vi Arm i Arm i Frederiks Have;
Jeg saae ei blot i Øiet Tankens Flugt:
Ret aldrig holdt Du Livet indelukt,
Som mørke Grublersind vil Sky nedgrave.

Jeg til henrundne Tiders Runestave
Opsøgte fjernt det Lys, der syntes slukt.
Dit Aasyn lyste, Øiet funkled smukt:
Min Phantasus Dig rakte glad sin gave.

Tolosas stille Hyrdes Kamp Du aned;
Din Tanke fløi med min til Tassos Fængsel;
Du delte Digterhjertets Haab og Længsel.

Men blev jeg selv af Aandens Vink bortmanet
Til Tassos Grav — din Sjæl kun taus mig fulgte:
Din Kind blev bleg, men Gravens Tanker dulgte.
