Time Poem by Adamae Liege

Time

When dusk has gone down
And dawn has crawled in
We'll meet the heroes,
Of the slain and fallen.

When the door is closed
The lock not turned
The stairs torn away,
We'll use what we've learned

I know I can't see you
Until the next life
But just for now,
Pick up some of my strife.

I can't find my way
In all this chaos
Please lead me through
And help me across.

When all is lost
When we no chance
I'll look for you
But only a glance.

I know I can't see you
Until the world falls
But just for now
Answer my calls.

When the archways are covered
And I can't see far,
I'll try not to look
For my North star.

When the days are quiet
And life's running still
I might cry a little
But I won't let it spill.

I know I can't see you,
Until I slip away
But just for now
Will you please stay?

I remember the times
When we used to smile
And that was how
We'd stay for a while

And now all I see
Are locks with no keys
And now I am crying
While on my knees.

I know I can't see you
Until when I finally freeze,
But just for now
Stand by me please.

It's hard to be
Right here without aid
But right now,
I can stand where I strayed.

I just have to hope
That it's you on that side
Waiting to greet me
And standing nearby.

I know I can't see you
Until the end of my time
But just for now
Will you please stay mine?
