Bi ada ogun odun, odun ape,
bi ada egbefa osu, osu ako,
after the darkness of the night is day,
the light, the life after this hole.

Tita riro lan ko'la,
eni toti dopin lon gba'de,
end surprises, its game over,
men leave, effects stay.

Acts, stories, legacies, legends,
oruko rere san ju wura ati fadaka,
all become memory, all journey ends,
egun odun n'tan; akara omo alagbaa.

Eyi aba se lan royin,
Legacy is what haunts all men.
