Tired/Alone Poem by Lyndsey Grant

Tired/Alone

I am burnt
Tired
Spent
Have to pay rent
No direction
No intent
God send me a sign
To make me feel fine
Because its getting harder
Each time
I’m fed
Up with the it all
Its tough when your small
A speck
A fleck
Invisible
To the eye
Where is my joy?
Where is my content?

I’m alone
All alone
Even when others surround me
I am stuck inside me
New places
New faces
And yet nothing ever changes
Alone
I sit and contemplate
And debate
With myself
About myself
Don’t want to be this self
Anymore
Where’s the door
So I can exit
Stop existing
And maybe start living
