To My Dearest Mom. Poem by MIRAK Montiel

To My Dearest Mom.

To My Dearest Mom,

You were one of God's perfect flowers in His angelic garden. Every year, every breath I take, I think of you. You are the missing piece of my heart and soul—one that can never be replaced or healed.

Living without you has felt like climbing a mountain, and with every passing year, I feel myself slowly fading. It's been a long autumn since you left, and when you did, you took the colors from my sky—leaving it dark and gloomy.

But I can't be selfish with your love or your presence. That's why God took you—because someone as beautiful as you belongs next to Him. Still, I will always and forever love you. I appreciate you beyond words, because without you, there would be no me.

I hope you celebrate every day in heaven the way I celebrated every second I was blessed to spend with you. Happy Mother's Day, Mom—and to Grandma too. I miss you both deeply. I pray that one day, we'll be together again.

With all my love,
Forever your child.
Dedicated to my mother Sandra and grandmother Alicia.
