To Share One Soul Poem by Louise Tredoux

To Share One Soul

It’s great to have you home, to hear
your voice rise and fall as you tell all
about your successful financial deal,
the loneliness of this day falls away
in a cozy sense of togetherness and
camaraderie, your happiness on dis-
covering I had washed everything, from
your shirts to my old running shoes, the
joy of a meal prepared at home, not
glamorous dishes at all, laughing at jokes,
watching a program together, your sweet
presence filling my senses, your wondrous
touch, the delight of your mouth, to feel
the divine in our union, to share one soul
