Tonight, she lies,
She lies there cold.
for the God who loved her,
who loved her soul.
He's taking her away
and He'l lay her down.
He's taking her soul
from frozen ground.
And placing a stone
upon her grave.
He'l place that stone
in tears that rain!
By the dim
of dreary light he'l cry!
In fields
of withered grass, she'l ly!
And night will come
this night will bring!
the wretched sleep
and all I dream!
one last time, I'l see her there,
one last time
and never again! !
the soul
that was my mother
