today, four years ago

The wave struck me like meteors from above.
The denial came in ever increasing amounts.
A spray of salty droplets started dripping,
From above,
It became a waterfall.

Blackness and gloom covered my mind,
The everlasting darkness crept towards me,
Inviting me to rest.

The pain I felt,
And the sorrows I tasted.
I could breath yet felt suffocating.
A shiver went down my spine,
Ever chilling.
