Today Is Poem by Jennifer Jarrell

Today Is

When I sit and think of what we use to be,
I cry, crying because your not next to me.
It seems like yesterday but its been a year,
I can't believe a year ago I never shed a tear.

In this past year I've lived in such a dream,
Wow the 2 of us what a team.
As I lay down my eyes start to close to sleep,
But yet again I'm kept up by tears that I weep.

Today we should be sharing another year,
Another year of holding you near.
So I wonder if today will be the day.
The day our paths cross each others way.

Is today the day we stop playing this game.
The day our hearts say and mean the same.
Today can i hold you so tight.
With our embrace feeling so right.

Will today end with me cuddled in your arms.
Where i'll feel safe and never no harm.
I cant help but to pray.
That tomorrow will be the day.

I hope that with tomorrow.
Will come no more sorrow.
That when I wake we'll be together.
With our love making us light as a feather.

And in the morning as we awake,
Great passionate love we will make.
We'll smile and kiss as we made it thru year 2.
But it's just a dream that will never be true.
