Today Is Done Poem by Kampanje Aubrey

Today Is Done

Rating: 5.0

Today is dying,
and shadow's dust floods
the daylight land.
Dreadful have I grown
as I am constantly drowned
by wild naps,
A certain dream has
chilled me
Drilling into the marrow
of my entire bones
A dream that your love
for me
No longer was like the dew
upon the lawn,
That flirts a while and
then goes
Today is dying, today is
done.

I lay here,
one fallen leaf filtering
like a clod,
One sad chimpanzee hunting,
An empty boat in the sea,
What else to do but adhere
to the silhouette of
a rose bud
Or feast memory's corpse
And hope that the clock may
soon gather the fragments
of our love
Today is dying, today is
done.
