Tonight, the stars shine bright
As we bid farewell to 2012
An old year, passing into the night
For a new one to ensue
Memories of the past
Whisper in the air
As we make a toast
To all that we've shared
The clock strikes twelve
A moment frozen in time
A new chapter begins
A chance to start the climb
The end of one journey
Marks the beginning of another
We look ahead with hope
As we let go of the past's cover
The fireworks light up the sky
As we welcome the new year
With open arms and hearts
And leave behind any fear
The old year fades away
Like a ship sailing into the sea
Leaving behind its legacy
For the new one to decree
Tonight, we celebrate
The end of 2012
But with every ending
Comes a new beginning to delve
So let's raise our glasses
And give a cheer
For tonight marks the end
But also a new year.
