Tonight Poem by Farooq Kuchay

Tonight

Tonight

I won't fall asleep,
because the stars are twinkling
as if they are binding in eternal knot.

Tonight

I can't keep my eyes close,
for they fought together with the world
and won the place in each other's souls.

Tonight

I can narrate you the tale unique,
because they bore up every scar
for the love seed that was planted years ago.

Tonight

I can light up with the stars,
that the love seed grew into a big tree
bearing fruits of love and affection.

Tonight

I feel malencholic,
not to ask me why
because people that knew hatred cut its boughs.

Tonight

I can prophecy,
that they would fly high in the sky
and meet forever in the heavens abode.
