Chris Purser

Tonight

I feel ancient

like the tide.

Time sweeps currents of change

upon my rocky shoreline,

altering this landscape

of dreams.

Sorrow has claimed

the infinite borders of my heart

too many moments

to fathom,

so I release a sigh

into the shadows,

forlorn.

Tonight,

I feel your tender touch

silently surrounding my soul

as I surrender my tears

to the sea...
