Touch From The Past Poem by Cyclopseven R

Touch From The Past

Rating: 5.0

The touch from the past
bring along tales of pleasure and pain
trailing like shadow, it’s a wide open meadow
for sparrows to render the melodious chirping
and for tigers to roar in hoarse growl.

gentle touch of yesteryears' memory
awaken within me the nostalgic bonds
of years abandoned during the frivolous youth
now gone with eternal breeze.

The touch of the moments hiding between my mind
raises in me the panoramic beauty in this eternal play
where, from the present I am able to link to the past
yet we always say past is past and let bygone be gone.

Its so easy a matter to think of casting the past as a concept of time
but is the past that easy to erase when its one with the conscience?
journeying along the trails of life we come across accidents and incidents
in one way or another we are again and again linked to memories of yore.

The touch from the past forms the mast that guide us wisely
to live a life good and holy, not to be smeared with the polluting dust;
the past is not doomed to disappear forever, but in our minds it is still as fresh as ever
remember, that we do not move in life, but life keeps moving for us to live.
