Train Passing Poem by William Barton

Train Passing

Train passing winter grey fields
With impromptu pools reflecting greyer skies;
Passing fallow fields, homeless hedges
And empty skeleton trees.

Just one patch of sky -
A stain of palest blue -
And if you look closely,
The tiniest blink of a watery sun.
