Traveler's Song Poem by Vanessa Dizon Alvarez

Traveler's Song

O friend, do you know
Where your footsteps go?
This world is but a fleeting stay,
Are you seeking the brighter way?

Look at the deeds your hands have done,
Did they bring joy to anyone?
Life is brief, a passing flame,
Seek the good, not worldly fame.

O friend, have you seen
The sorrow sin has been?
Do you hear your brother's plea,
Calling softly, tenderly?

O friend, do you know
Where your spirit flows?
Toward the light or shadows deep,
Choose the path your soul will keep.
