Trees Poem by Suruchi(Sumegha) Salhotra

Trees

Trees give us abundant blessings,
but do we ever care?
No, we cut them relentlessly,
and that is not fair.

We desire big houses to live in,
and factories where we work,
But do we ever pause to think,
from where fresh air will lurk?

In scorching hot summers,
we rely on ACs and coolers' breeze,
But do we ever realize,
trees provide a permanent cooling ease?

We adorn our homes
with artificial flowers every color and hue,
But do we ever contemplate,
the natural beauty that trees accrue?

Just think, oh,
let us reflect on our actions and their worth,
For trees are life's precious gifts,
nurturing our planet's dearth
