Tribulations Poem by Okello Baloyi

Tribulations

In my mind, I was just a cub
Not knowing how ruthless I was
Until sorrows inflicted my nights
My desires took another toll as well
And learned to drown one's sorrows
Day and night were detached by sunlight
And I was not separable to the old barfly
But who would've thought?
A tree that was once withered, would bloom
And the same society that casted insults
Are seeking for solace
