Triumphs of Tribulations
--FreeBird 02
I am who I am today
From all that has been taken away
From broken bones to broken heart
I have learned a lot.
Some say I am like a "Traveling Man"
Some travels hand in hand
From one state threw another
I have learned
The values,
Of one's foundational score.
Wearing a ring
Meant many wonderful things
Then one day this ring was no more
Standing me like once before
But now it means so much more.
Now many different pets lift your heart
Keeping dreams and disasters apart
Like puppies cuddling so true
They help take away the blues.
With parents gone
When oh so young
Things seem so unfair
Till age shows some loss of care
Now the time has gone
With more to share
All you see is really there
So open your hands and open your heart
The good in the good times
Has yet to start
For the light at the end of the tunnel
Is lit by the yearning of your heart.
