Trusting Jesus

Why do I do the things I do?
Saying the things I say
Letting the devil cloud my view
Walking his evil way

Too long has Satan held me blind
Hindering from life’s goal
Whilst God can see my troubled mind
The aching of my soul

My suffering my deep distress
The cancer in my heart
My wayward past I must confess
And seek a brand new start

I know He wants the best for me
For this He sent His Son
I know He wants to set me free
From evil things I’ve done

I need to change I will repent
I seek God’s Guiding Light
I’m trusting in The One He sent
To help me win the fight

So Lord my God now hear my prayer
Please hear these words I say
That I through Christ may reap life’s share
Consider my plea today

Consider this wretched heart o Lord
This wayward soul of sin
From Heaven, send Your flaming Sword
Burn swift the filth within

Cast down each stone of Satan’s tower
Shut tight the devil’s doors
Through faith I’m trusting Jesus power
To make me truly Yours.
