The more I get to know you,
The less I remember what life felt like before you.
Sometimes I wonder if you realize the effect you have on me,
Because somehow, you make me want to be more than I am,
To become a better man than the one I was before you came.
I know people say that love is complicated,
But you've made me believe that maybe it doesn't have to be.
Maybe love is simply showing up when it matters,
Remembering the little things,
And holding each other through the longest days.
It's laughing at something dumb,
Forgiving quickly when we're wrong, Falling asleep on the phone because we're both too tired to say goodnight,
It's finding comfort in your voice when the world feels loud,
And knowing that somehow, just having you makes everything feel right.
That's what you are to me.
The simple, consistent part of life,
The quiet moments I never knew I needed,
The unexpected smile in the middle of an ordinary day,
The good part I never want to live without.
Sometimes I think about how rare it is
To find someone who feels like peace and excitement at the same time,
Someone who can calm my heart while still making it race,
Someone who feels familiar, yet somehow still feels like a beautiful surprise.
And I love knowing that once,
We both existed somewhere without knowing each other,
Doing our own thing,
Living our own lives,
Walking through days that had nothing to do with us,
Never knowing that somewhere along the way,
Our paths would find each other.
And somehow, without forcing it,
Without planning it,
Without even trying,
We fell in love.
Out of all the people in this world,
Out of all the lives we could have lived,
Somehow, I found you,
And somehow, you found me.
