Turning Sixty.... Poem by James Atkins

Turning Sixty....

TURNING SIXTY....
I'll be sixty soon
Can that be true
My heart is still young
But the time it just flew
I look in the mirror
And there is my Dad
But Dad was quite handsome
So that's not so bad
That guy in the mirror
He's darn sure turned grey
But his life's been a blessing
And still is today
I've got folks that love me
I have friends that care
A sweet wife and family
And my love to share
I wouldn't change much
Even if that could be
I've seen the world
And it has seen me
I've known life's great joys
Felt fear and pain
And that's not lost yet
Like tears in rain
So I'll take the sixties
And give em a try
And I'll keep on kicking
Just not as high
And my birthday wish
To those I've shared time
Is that you have a life
That's as full as mine
