Tutorial For A Nation Poem by Bill Grace

Tutorial For A Nation

When the out of favor United States Senator
came to Geneseo,
I went to meet him.
He was alone and I was alone.
We talked of many things for three hours
in the bright sun lite of Sturgis Hall.
There was his belief if JFK had lived
he would have become one of our greatest presidents.
The other thing that has stuck with me over fifty years
is that documents that were routinely coming across
Wayne Morris's Senate desk marked 'Top Secret'
he was routinely reading about in the foreign press.
'Secret' is not always so secret.
