I've loved full many times, yet none would stay,
Each fleeting flame like sand through open hand;
Yet still I sail upon life's shifting way,
A vessel borne across an unknown strand.
Life is a journey, paused at every shore,
Where change demands new craft, new path to chart;
Love's hand once held may leave, to come no more,
Yet leaves its mark upon the silent heart.
The tides of time wait not for mortal claim,
Nor halts the sun upon its ceaseless track;
But I remain, though shadows call my name,
In whispered winds where vanished loves come back.
Seek me, and find me in my verse alive,
And in my heirs, my talents still survive.
