Two Faces Of Me Poem by Vanessa Dizon Alvarez

Two Faces Of Me

I'm sorry, I change with skies,
A morning smile, a midnight sigh.
I try to hold the calm you seek,
But sometimes shadows make me weak.

At dawn I shine, at dusk I fade,
A different self the night has made.
You reach for me, I turn away,
Though all I want is just to stay.

It isn't you, it's not your blame,
The shifting tide, the hidden flame.
You give me hope, you give me light,
I lose myself but still I fight.

So if I seem a world apart,
Please know you live inside my heart.
Though two may walk within my skin,
It's love that binds me deep within.
