Unbreakable Hold Poem by Sapphire Gordon

Unbreakable Hold

I seem to like you,
But liking you breaks me.
You are my warm-freezer.

I try to please you,
But pleasing you ruins me.
You are my melting glacier.

I always defend you.
But defending you weakens me.
You are my deafening silence.

I want to protect you,
But protecting you hurts me.
You are my rough silk.

I cannot stay with you,
Because I must break free,
From this unbreakable hold.
