Unbroken Light Poem by Reena Marie

Unbroken Light

Rating: 5.0

Bent but not broken,
you rise like a sunflower
after the storm has passed—
roots deeper than the wind's memory,
stems curved but unsnapped.
See how they lean and sway,
these golden-hearted warriors,
always turning their face toward light
even when the ground beneath them
has forgotten how to be kind.
Each crease in their stem
is a story of survival,
each twisted angle a testament
to something stronger than falling—
the art of rising again.
They know nothing of surrender,
these flowers born from dust and determination.
Knocked down by thunderstorms,
trampled by careless feet,
yet they push through soil
like a promise to themselves.
Their roots grip earth with a fury
that whispers: 'I am not finished.'
Their petals spread wide,
not in defiance, but in celebration
of having survived what tried to break them.
Sunflowers don't hide their scars,
they wear them like medals,
each bend in their stalk
a choreography of resilience,
each new bloom a declaration:
'I am still here.'
We are not so different,
you and these golden sentinels—
learning that strength
is not about never falling,
but about how magnificently
you rise each time.
