Uncertainty Poem by Anjali V S

She never tasted failure in childhood.
She was the star among the stars,
A butterfly with colourful feathers.

Puberty hit her hard.
Her adolescence was not that easy.
Severe mood swings accompanied her.
From a star she took solace in her cocoon.

Her mind began wavering,
'I want to be a doctor' turned to uncertain future.

She took a turn towards arts.
Deep inside she was uncertain, the unclear future haunted her always.
Her brightness faded in parts.

From a star to a lonely cloud did she become. Finding solace in poetry and literature.

When it came to love she wished for a chivalrous knight
who never showed up in her life.
Uncertainty after uncertainty was her life.

Darkness engulfed everywhere that's when she looked within for some light.

A new dawn was born again
The old her was reborn again
The lost child found her way home.
If not a doctor will be a teacher she decided. A new pathway was lit only for her.

A new page was opened, a new chapter began.
