Unconditionally Poem by Grace M. Kraft

Unconditionally

Fingers of pain and doubt creep in,
Trust so easily eroded.
A lifetime of memories
Clamor to be heard,
Some adding to the doubt,
Others doubling the pain.
Once to feel so close,
Only to be shut out by whim.
To love is to know pain
Yet be able to wash it away,
In the touch of a hand,
Soft spoken words,
The mutual give and take.
To truly love unconditionally
One sacrifices need
And lets the other go
Flying where they will,
Regardless of the pain.
