Under No Circumstances - Poem by Mustafa Marconi

It happened so quickly
Took me a moment to register
Like a pack of wolves they descended upon her
Pummeling her violently to the ground
Instinctively I attacked
A mere pre-adolescent child
Coming to his older siblings aid
Tossed aside like rubbish, I looked up
He dashed in like a madman
Relieved the big one of her weapon
And proceeded to unmercifully annihilate them
Standing there, in total shock
Observing a Lion protecting his pride
I beamed unapologetically with pride
As the aggressors laid comatose on the ground
Years later that lesson reinforces my etiquette
Cross the line and suffer the consequences
Gender forever an insignificant afterthought
Let society frown, criticize and condemn me
Government can sentence them to death
Or send them out to kill, or be killed
But under NO circumstances should a man ever strike them
Cross the line and I will send a man to his grave
Cross the line and I will beat a Woman’s ass
Just like she was a man
A simple Lion protecting his pride
