Underneath The Magpie Tree Poem by Kevin Eaglesfield

Underneath The Magpie Tree

High among the damsons,
The magpie cocked his head,
To better catch the light that drew
And trapped him through the leaves.
His mate, for joy, perched just above,
Considered underneath,
And blushed a darker black
And shone more white.
