let us friends forever be
though a cloud we barely see
obscures the necessary key
as we struggle just to be

so when we think of times we knew
or meet to share our thoughts anew
can we honour heart’s review
let our words with love imbue

for then the changes that we face
can happen at a peaceful pace
our fears are heard they have their place
until our caring waives all trace

of echoes of another day
struggles to survive the fray
for now we’ve come to have our say
there’s understanding for our way
