When the egos clashed
On the supremacy in the world
A fire emerged radiating energies
Asking to find the beginning and end
Ran behind the task two supreme gods
One the creator, the other the protector
Turning as a bore and a bird as radiator
After a long struggle unable to find
They surrendered the egos to end
There emerged the love of unique cosmos
Lingodhbhava, the Lord of eternal love

When the battle began in the world
Of who is bigger., a man? A woman?
The universal parental love of 2 energies
Came together in a marital bliss
Uniting in body, mind and divine soul
The powerful cosmic energies of Lord Shiva
The deeper lake of love in the divine Shakthi
Merged as one ultimate form in a divine wedding
There emerging the divine'Ardhanadishwara'
Showing that in love, both are equal swara!

When the world churned the oceans
In search of Amritham, a divine eternity blessing
As devas and ausuras churned with their might
First emerged, the halahala, the poison in fight
Stumbled on the fact that it would end the world
Gods and Asuras seeked the Trimurthis with hands folded
Lord Shiva stepped in and drank it fast
Making it stop in his neck, so he can last
Thus emerging Lord Neelakanta,
The divine force of love and mercy

The Lord known for his stillness
Ever in his eyes closed deeper meditation
Guarding us and watching over all of us
The cosmic night of Shivrathri, he rose
With bells in his legs and music of his damru
Force in his moves, fierce in his swings
The world watched the fierce Shiva Tandava
That unfolded that night as Lord Nataraja

The night of Shivarathri, formless to form
The lord of love and grace, took up a turn
Providing the fierce light of fire
At the stroke of midnight nishita kal
Kalabhairava protecting us with light
When the world struggled with pain
And showing rays of light in darkness
As a result of several divine penances
Giving us the form of Lord Rudra

Every form of Lord Shiva
Filled us with love in abundance
Every prayer to him today and ever
Will protect us and guard us forever
Let's soak in his eternal love
Dance to the tunes of the master designer
Who drafted our every move and destiny
Let's soak in his ardent prayer
To guide us in love, health and abundance
