Undertow Poem by Brian Rihlmann

Undertow

The water rushes past,
tugging at my legs,
pulling the ground
from under my soles.

Disoriented and dizzy
I stumble,
catch myself,
and head back to shore.

The sensation
a bit like the way
you draw my eyes
as you walk by,
the rest of the world
sucked out to sea.
