Unfallen Poem by Katrina Harms

My heart fell from a tree
it landed in your lap
It was not the softest spot in the world
But you kept me from falling.
I cannot give up the world,
to give my all for this saving grace
You were unaware of the gravity
Of your placement at the time I might have fallen
Out of reach, out of knowing
I cannot give you what you desire,
now that I am unfallen, you are beside me
I cannot thank you the way I should
(It would not seem to mean enough)
You saved my life when I was lowest
Now you are low and
There is
Nothing
I can
do.
