Union Poem by Mary Champion

Union

(To Gaia)

When I gaze upon your beauty,
I am unsated by the feasting of my eyes.
For my desire is to blend with you,
to enter into your being
and become one with you.
To merge with your living streams,
to be held in the embrace of your great forests;
to breathe the exhilaration of your lofty places;
and engage with the mysteries of your deepest caverns.

No words can convey my yearning
to experience all that you are -
to become you.
