Unpersonning Charles Darwin Poem by Mary Champion

Unpersonning Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was a hero,
he wrote on evolution,
he undermined religion,
and began a revolution.
But Darwin was imperfect -
like all of us he erred,
thought educating women
too much would be absurd.
I wonder how the puritans,
policing every thought
of those who came before us,
will respond to this report.
If past reaction offers
any clue to where they stand
‘On The Origin of Species'
will be shredded and then banned.
