Unpolished Stone Poem by Sonia Walker

Unpolished Stone

Rating: 5.0

She's an unpolished stone,
waiting to be shined,
her goodness and maturity
will develop with age
which will help outwit
her teenage hormonal rage.

She's an unpolished stone,
waiting to be shined,
dreamer of soap opera scenes
in which she is in the arms
of her handsome and tall hero,
engulfed with all his charms.

She's an unpolished stone,
waiting to be shined,
cramming for exams till dawn,
eating pizza and drinking pop,
keeping awake to go over her notes,
praying that her grades will not drop.

She's an unpolished stone,
waiting to be shined,
as she walks down the aisle,
a picture of beauty in white lace,
her eyes as bright as diamonds,
showing love and grace.
