Unrequited Love Could Turn Into Selfless Universal Love. Poem by PADMINI DUTTA SHARMA

Unrequited Love Could Turn Into Selfless Universal Love.

My Messiah

Do you remember the night you drove away
After the useless brawl over another cat eyed dumb gal
That had been exploiting you in and out
By squeezing out the emotions you were made of
The twitching in my chest left me ajar
I didn't shed a tear
For I knew you would regret and come back
But the wait was long and wrenching….

I decided to go out and find another guy
That would keep me company till you were back
I tried imagining all sort of bad things about you
That you may have turned senile and I will spot you half dead in the drain and I would rescue you and bring you home
And then out of gratitude you will be mine forever
But nothing of that sort happened…

Then one day my wait was over
In a distant land
I saw you in the pool with another in a bikini
You took away your gaze from me and dragged her with you
I followed only to know you had changed your identity
She called you by another name
Oh why was that?

Are you happy to have lost your soul just to run away from me?
Or is there something else that you've been hiding?
I lingered in the unknown city to delve deep into the mystery
My husband wandered what may have kept me back from him for days and weeks
Determined to get to the bottom I spoke to the localites. the cops
Only to be told you are the new Robinhood they treasure
Someone they look up to as their Messiah that lend his hands to the distressed at all cost
Because he has no one but God.
