Unspoilt Poem by david e golledge

Unspoilt

An icy shape dropped from above
into a child's hand.
Symmetry within,
unique without twin,
into the infants command.

Her innocence unspoilt
until she destroyed
the snowflake she held in her palm.

The heat from inside
melted, she cried,
for you I wished no harm.

The world gave in to man's embrace
for creation of paradise.
He planted and sowed
an Eden he hoped,
but the price was surely too high.

Her beauty unflawed
but she was outlawed,
her forests he would have to flatten.

The heat from outside
melting, he cried,
this was not supposed to happen.
