Untitled 2 Poem by Neville Malatsi

Untitled 2

I will drag you down with me
Into the abysmal watery depths of your mind
A Lorelei I am, Poseidon's bride I was supposed to be
You could not resist my siren song
Dragging you deeper into this wintery, cold waters of your subconscious
You do not resist me, why?
Do you not know the madness that is befalling you?
The dangers of delving deep into this rabbit hole?
But I will give you the sanctuary you never knew
With my cold, scaly body against yours
I will give you all the passion ensouled in my tormented beauty
The one your shattered mind begs for
As I let you, ravenously, into the void that is my form
Into the darkest crypts of the ocean
King and Queen, we will reign

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A vignette of a mind afflicted with depression and drowning in a sea of despair. Embracing the cold waters of existential winters, I renege control and give into the only one who would dare love an accursed soul
