(untitled #38) Poem by bob barci

(untitled #38)

After a long, humid day,
the early evening’s cooling breeze is magnificent.
I am in need of a porch sitting.
On the porch
I keep company with a cup of flavored coffee
and a steady breeze
that makes me wonder
‘Why can’t it be like this all the time? ’
The cool breeze invigorates me.
I am ready for anything.
I can easily drift off into a daydream
or wander the streets in a delightful daze.
Where is a loved one
to share this time with me?
Tonight,
I take part in this time alone.
Later on,
when I climb into my bed,
the window will be open
letting in the breeze
that will ease me into sleep.
