Unyago Song Poem by Ali Ame

Unyago Song

Watch and learn my little child
Sing and dance, do not be shy
Roll your eyes with female pride
Soon you'll become someone's bride

Wipe your kitchen clean and dry
Harvest the banana while it's ripe
Take the calabash and put it inside
The best time for cooking is at night

Watch and learn my little child
Wear your khanga when you leave the hut
Snakes will waylay you outside
Guard your ring, don't let them bite
